Commercial-Office & Studios
Before & After
The before picture above is a 100 year old decommissioned firehouse. Due to poor drainage and salt from fire-trucks, the concrete slabs, reinforced steel and interiors were in a state of disrepair. Significant structural repairs were required to once again make this structure safe. The next step was to make this space conducive for a recording studio. The after picture shows several of the acoustical sound measures taken in this adaptive re-use. Tin ceilings are micro-perforated tiles, designed to absorb sound in recording Studio. Sound deadening was added on floor above, to prevent noise from office above from spreading. To keep “in period”, all finishes were replaced with vintage finishes and fixtures.
